Relax - Buddhist Meditation Music - Zen Garden - Kokin Gumi

How to relax while singing, sometimes my body is as stiff as a rock?
Sometimes my body (neck and shoulders mostly) get so tense while I'm singing that it hurts! I try to move my neck around and it pops a lot then I continue but my voicebox moves so high up my throat that my jaw hurts. Then my jaw gets tired. What can I do to make myself relax? Any suggestions?

  6. There's no specific phenomenon, if that's what you're asking. The event of orgasm is mediated by massive sympathetic discharge from the CNS, which is why it is so intense — the relaxation afterwards is a combined effect of rapid withdrawal of said sympathetic output, and increased parasympathetic output.

I'm not aware of significant physiological differences in gender-orgasms — there may be differences in intensity, but that may be dependent on the individual and context.

  7. Exercise is execllent. Here are some techniques that might help too:

There are three major types of relaxation techniques:

Autogenic training. This technique uses both visual imagery and body awareness to move a person into a deep state of relaxation. The person imagines a peaceful place and then focuses on different physical sensations, moving from the feet to the head. For example, one might focus on warmth and heaviness in the limbs, easy, natural breathing, or a calm heartbeat.
Progressive muscle relaxation. This technique involves slowly tensing and then releasing each muscle group individually, starting with the muscles in the toes and finishing with those in the head.
Meditation. The two most popular forms of meditation in the U.S. include Transcendental Meditation (students repeat a mantra [a single word or phrase],) and mindfulness meditation (students focus their attention on their moment-by-moment thoughts and sensations).
    How do relaxation techniques work?

When we become stressed, our bodies engage in something called the "fight or flight response." The fight or flight response refers to changes that occur in the body when it prepares to either fight or run. These changes include increased heart rate, blood pressure, and rate of breathing, and a 300 to 400 percent increase in the amount of blood being pumped to the muscles. Over time, these reactions raise cholesterol levels, disturb intestinal activities, and depress the immune system. In general, they leave us feeling "stressed out."

However, we also possess the opposite of the fight or flight response—the "relaxation response." This term, first coined in the mid-1970s by a Harvard cardiologist named Herbert Benson, refers to changes that occur in the body when it is in a deep state of relaxation. These changes include decreased blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and rate of breathing, as well as feelings of being calm and in control. Learning the relaxation response helps to counter the ill effects of the fight or flight response and, over time, allow the development of a greater state of alertness. The relaxation response can be developed through a number of techniques, including meditation and progressive muscle relaxation. It is now a recommended treatment for many stress-related disorders.

What are relaxation techniques good for?

Research suggests that meditation can help improve a person's quality of life and reduce stress hormone levels.

Studies also show that relaxation techniques reduce the perception of pain. One study found that among patients undergoing colorectal surgery, those who listened to guided-imagery tapes before, during, and after the operation had less pain and needed fewer pain medications than those who did not.

Meditation has also been used as part of the treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder in Vietnam veterans and to break substance abuse patterns in drug and alcohol abusers. Relaxation techniques can also enhance coping skills in migraine sufferers and reduce stress as well as improve mood in those with cancer.

In general, studies show that with consistent practice, relaxation techniques can potentially reduce symptoms or improve outcomes in the following conditions:

    premenstrual syndrome
    pain
    irritable bowel syndrome
    anxiety
    infertility
    high blood pressure
    high cholesterol
    diabetes
    panic disorders
    chronic tension headaches
    fibromyalgia
    insomnia
    psoriasis
    arthritis
hyperactivity in children, as in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
It is extremely important that usual medical care and advice by followed for these conditions as well. Relaxation techniques are meant to complement usual medical care.

Is there anything I should watch out for?

Relaxation techniques are considered to be very safe. There have been unusual cases where people become more, rather than less, anxious when using the techniques because of a heightened awareness of body sensations. Even more rare are reports of pain, heart palpitations, muscle twitching, and crying spells associated with the use of relaxation techniques. When this happens, it is often related to the process of relaxing and reflecting inward such that emotions become very poignant.

Experts advise people with schizophrenia and other forms of psychosis (thought disorders that distort reality) to avoid relaxation techniques.

  9. *lachanfall*
ey der kam echt gut grade.
versuch aber wirklich ernsthaft zu entspannen und nich nur solche kommis abzulassen ja? :)

  10. - Stick with your friend, if she's outgoing then stay with her and dancing next to someone can lead to you dancing with them!

    - Don't be afraid to have something too drink, just not TOO much you don't want to do anything you'll regret.. just a bit to loosen you up a bit.

    - If a song you like comes on, pull your friend and just dance. Whatever comes to you, not like the funky chicken and all that cr*p, just.. smile, and step side to side, laugh, move your hips, loosen up. Have fun. :)

    - Everyone is nervous in a nightclub, it's either their personality or the drink that makes them loosen up.

    - No-one will judge you, people dance at nightclubs, don't be afraid to talk to anyone if they look nice/friendly. :)

  11. I ussually taking warm water bath, listening to music that makes you relax when you close your eyes, playing some music ornament if you have one. Hope I could help

  12. Lie on your back and stretch your arms out straight beyond your head. Try to stretch your arms and feet away from each other.

  13. hmmm, interesting question. Id say smthing im interested in, such as a guitar, or a book, or a tennis racquet…. stuff toys work too i guess :)

  14. Relax your hands first. My cross country coach back in high school would make us run with holding a potato chip in our hands. If we broke the chip, then we had to run more. Really sucked, but I never clench my fists.
When running, occasionally move your shoulders around to loosen muscles….helps your minds think of relaxing upper body muscles.

  15. God forgive me that I am from another culture!

  16. What does relax you? For me it is bubble baths and bodice ripper novels. You might also change the time of day. Try morning trysts instead of evening ones.

  17. oh entschuldigen sie, ich wollte sie mit meinem schlechten und unnützen “kommi” nicht von ihrer entspannungsphase abbringen, entschuldigen sie vielmals !!!
    ich entspanne auch grade ommmmm

  18. I used to stretch and do some deep breathing. It always did the trick. Got me loose and centered and ready.

  19. This is some good stuff.

  20. 20 minutes? You'll just have to Go For It. Find a comfortable chair or couch that you can rest your entire body on, set your timer for 20 minutes and MAKE YOURSELF become as limp as a ragdoll. Close your eyes and dont think, except to imagine the scent and image of a rose, a beach to hear the waves. Choose your image before you lay down and use all your senses in your image. Thats it.
Ragdoll body, Imagination at work, reassurance of timer going off, precluding sleep.
It works for me. Good Luck.

  21. Gin & Tonic
    Mojito
    Whiskey Sour
    Vodka & Cranberry
    Rum & Coke
Jagermeister & Red Bull (or vodka & red bull works too)

just try each of them (on seperate occassions) and pick your favorite

  22. Try beating something up >=). or just scream as loud as you can on your porch. or… bang your head… If your not fierce like that then find a hobby, I would recommend cooking. also you could try finding a game with a ton of explosions and is really easy.

  23. ive had a fish tank for the past year filled with lively types of fish
just watching them interact and be themsleves always works for me

  24. Well, first of all, make sure she is listening to your leg 100% by doing transition work, switching up of the direction often, circles, serpentines, extensions/collections, etc. Generally once a horse is warmed up enough, they will drop down and relax on the bit all by themselves. If this does not work however, try putting her on a 20 m. circle. Keep a very steady outside rein and outside leg so that she doesn't buldge the shoulder and to keep her hind end a little straighter (in case she over bends). With the inside leg and hand, ask at the same time so squeeze one stride with the inside leg and ask with the inside hand at the same time (sometimes just sponging on the reins works…if she becomes super resistant, try lifting the inside hand and then bring it back then lift, then bring it back on and off with the same time you appy your inside leg). Keep her moving forward because it is easier for a horse to move into the bit when they are moving forward. When she gives even just a little bit, reward by relaxing and then immediately ask her to drop again. Eventually she should listen and carry herself. When she does, relax on the reins and let her keep carrying herself. The moment that she raises her head, ask her again to drop down with the inside leg and hand.

Generally just before they come down, they will toss their head even higher as a resistance – keep asking at this point and she should come down.

  25. Perfect,
    I loved it

  26. 2 or 3 shotsa hooch otta do it.

  27. Some ideas:

Eat a banana about an hour before (and brush your teeth before you play!). Bananas are reported to contain enzymes which can relax and help calm you. FYI, the tooth brushing won't help the relaxation, but it'll keep your clarinet in better overall shape.

Concentrate only on playing. Only let your mind think about each note as you're playing it and what you need to do to go to the next note.

Remember that your band director does not want you to play poorly! S/he is on your side. Band directors should not "play favorites" but should evaluate the playing only. They don't want you to mess up!

  28. I know you're probably really anxious to go ahead and relax your hair right now, but it really is best to give it some time after having had it braided. From my past experience, when I used to relax my hair, the only time a relaxer burned me was when I went the day after taking out my braids. I had meant to go to the stylist just for a wash, deep conditioner and a press of my new growth, but then decided to relax it. I really had no idea that it was WRONG to relax hair right after braids. Apparently, neither did my stylist. It hurt, I coudn't take it so I got up and told her that I needed it rinsed out right away. It scared me. The end result was a painful relaxer application or attempted applicaton, a relaxer that didn't take, too much new growth for me to handle with the two completely different textures left on my head and therefore lots of breakage. I didn't know how to take care that. That was before the hair boards and lots of information online I came across in the last couple of years regarding how to best care for both relaxed and natural hair (some links below)

The reason I felt like my head was on fire for the first time since I had started relaxing my hair was because my scalp was so sensitive from having been in the braids for two or two and a half months. Had I known, or even had an inkling that this would happen, I would have happily waited at least two weeks. You should do the same. In the meantime, keep your hair conditioned and moisturized.
