So, you have found the perfect partner and are enjoying a cheerful and successful romantic relationship. At least you assumed so until you began to have the feeling that your other half is not being absolutely truthful with you. Is your partner actually purposefully deceiving you or are you just being too suspicious? Anyway, you have got to learn the truth and deal with the issue.

There are many ways to handle lying in a relationship. Some people choose to confront their romantic partner and question them. Others will anonymously check their partner’s phone log or e-mails. The issue with both these approaches is that they are useless. In case you decide to face your partner when you’re not sure that they have been lying, you will simply make them defensive. In case you find proof of their deceitful behavior in a deceptive fashion, you may grant them all the power in every further communication about the difficulty.

Therefore what’s the best way to resolve lying in a relationship? Upsetting as such a problem is, it’s also easy to handle. Actually there are just 3 things you must do, if you believe your other half is lying:

1. Find out if they are actually lying.
2. Talk about it.
3. Excuse your partner and go on with your life.

Now, as I mentioned previously, finding out whether or not your loved one is lying, is a troublesome task. The simplest method to accomplish that is to use the right questions and closely watch their nonverbal behavior while they respond. You will have to be aware of every tiny thing your loved one tells you and watch out for any unreliable statements. If you perceive one, ask them calmly “Didn’t you say that…” or “Wasn’t it (whatever the case is) you said you’re doing?”.

Once the truth is out, do not just burst out in hate. Speak to your other half quietly and try to understand what has provoked their dishonesty. You may be shocked to find out that something you did has essentially provoked them to dishonest!

The last step is to try to excuse your partner and go on with your life, together. In case you are not able to do so, your doubt will finally kill your romantic relationship.

Lying in a relationship definitely is a typical problem and unfortunately most couples cannot deal with it. Nevertheless if you follow the three easy rules I just gave you, you’ll certainly find a way to deal with the difficulty in a positive and constructive way and create the base of a honest relationship.
